UtrechtInc once again in worldwide top 10 of university-linked incubators

The Utrecht-based business incubator, affiliated with Utrecht University and UMC Utrecht, has once again obtained a top position in the ranking for best incubators in the world, the UBI Global 2019/2020. This was announced in Doha, Qatar, during the World Incubation Summit.

The incubator is hereby internationally recognized for their support for starting tech companies.

This year UBI announced rankings in six categories. UtrechtInc has obtained a top 10 position in the category University Business Incubator. “This position shows that starting entrepreneurs are in capable hands with our support,” according to Jorg Kop, managing director at Utrecht. “In ten years, we have supported over 200 startups with a success rate of 66%. The startups have jointly created 2.000+ jobs and raised €1 billion in funding.”

Research

UBI Global, the leading Swedish research and consultancy firm on business incubation, performs this study every two years under 700 incubators and accelerators in over eighty countries. Variables include access to capital and the incubators’ economic impact. The 364 participating programs accepted over 25.000 startups in 2018, the findings show.
