About UtrechtInc Startup Incubator
UtrechtInc helps entrepreneurial researchers, ambitious students and founders turn their ideas into successful startups. We are closely linked to Utrecht University, UMC Utrecht, and Hogeschool Utrecht. Our innovative startups operate primarily in healthcare, sustainability, education and artificial intelligence.
As a global top 10 university-linked startup incubator, we’ve supported over 400 startups in the past 15 years, helping them grow into impactful businesses. Founders in our programs benefit from intensive multi-month workshops, mentorship, access to coaches, access to funding and a vibrant calendar of events. On average, we host 30 startups in our offices and co-working spaces.

We’re a small, diverse and informal team of 6 FTE that operates much like a startup—with minimal hierarchy, flexible structures, and a strong emphasis on personal responsibility. We support each other to get the job done and step in to cover for one another when needed.

Your Role
In this role, you serve as the central connector between startups and the driving force behind targeted events. As a true matchmaker, you foster connections and organize gatherings that enhance our vibrant community of 35-45 in-house startups.
You’ll bring creativity, organization, and energy to deliver effective and unforgettable events, while your determination and social skills will help elevate UtrechtInc to the next level.
Event Planning & Coordination: Translate UtrechtInc’s goals and strategies into impactful event plans and execute them seamlessly.
Event Host: Be the welcoming face and organizer at events, including those held outside office hours.
Community Building: Deeply understand our community to design relevant events and foster strong relationships.
Ecosystem Engagement: Act as a key liaison with regional partners to explore collaborations and expand our reach.
Internal Communication: Create and distribute weekly newsletters for our startups and bi-monthly updates for our mentors.
Mentor Matching: Match our network of 100+ mentors with startups in need of guidance and expertise.
Talent Matching: Connect startups seeking talent with professionals eager to contribute to the startup ecosystem.
Service Partner Coordination: Schedule and oversee monthly consultations between startups and our service partners.
Diversity & Inclusion Ownership: Ensure UtrechtInc achieves its diversity and inclusion goals by embedding them into our activities.
Graduate Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with our graduate network.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Loves organizing events and building meaningful connections.
- Excited about supporting startups and the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
- Has at least two years of experience in community management, event planning, program organization or project coordination.
- Possesses a self-starting and entrepreneurial mindset.
- Excels in communication, both written and verbal, in Dutch and English.
- Holds a bachelor’s degree (HBO level or higher).
- Is highly customer-oriented and proactive in identifying and addressing needs.
- Is adaptable, confident interacting with people at all levels, and comfortable navigating networking events.
- Appreciates working at the office (due to the nature of our incubator we always work from the office).
- Bonus: A background or experience in life sciences.
- Currently resides in or near Utrecht.
